Glider is a cute-as-a-button café tucked away in one of the old cottages that link Kensington Street to Spice Alley. Inside it’s all white and pale wood, channelling the Japanese vibes of the rest of the alleyway, with a bit of Nordic style thrown in for good measure.
The coffee is by Single Origin, and they change the blend each week depending on what they like at that moment. The flat white we try is smooth and well made, and we also grab some duck burgers which sound way more exciting than they tasted (dry brioche buns encasing salty, sweet shredded duck, but not enough of it). We’ll be back to try the duck brekky noodles (because who doesn’t love some noodley goodness in the morning?) and for another cup of that smooth-as-silk Joe. And if you don’t want to eat or drink inside the café, no problem, ask for it as a takeaway and you can go and eat in Spice Alley just outside.
