This café is famous for serving monkey parchment coffee – beans chewed and spat out by rhesus apes at Merthi Mountain in India ($9 a plunger here). Owner Rob Forsyth has been at the vanguard of Sydney coffee for 25 years as a barista coach, master roaster and international judge – hell, his café (now with a new DIY coffee bar) even has a bean plantation out front! Ask nicely if you want Kopi Luwak – coffee beans eaten and excreted by the wild Asian civet cats. This one-off “crapuccino” is in short supply at $120 per 100 grams!
