It’s no secret that Sydneysiders have long loved a solid brew – to take-out as we head to the office, powered on nothing but caffeine, or to sit with in a warm café to enjoy during an overdue catch-up. And you can’t blame us; Australia boasts some of the best cafés in the world, with beans from top-notch roasters. Artisanal roaster Grinders Coffee has been doing it longer than most, lovingly providing the streets of Melbourne with better coffee since 1962, when Giancarlo Gusti opened his storefront to Melbournians hoping to bring a slice of his native Italy back to his new home.

This month, Grinders Coffee celebrates 60 years of an ethically made, freshly ground coffee experience. From rising to ever-evolving palates to sustainability, Grinders have become synonymous with quality coffee. From crop to café, here’s exactly where you can indulge your Grinder Coffee cravings.

To celebrate the occasion, Grinders Coffee is giving away a cash prize of $10,000 to one lucky Time Out reader, plus daily consolation prizes. To enter, head here.

Daily 6am-4pm

If you find yourself in the heart of the Central Coast, you might be lucky enough to stumble upon this quirky, family-run café, its name a play on the suburb name of Warnervale. At Warnies, you’ll be treated to a unique and welcoming Aussie establishment built way back in 1897. Once you’ve sat down with your roasty Grinders Coffee, choose one of many famous Warnies Crazy Shakes. The idea originated from a customer’s request to please her kids after a Curly Wurly was dunked in their shake. From a colourful ‘Skittle Pop’ to the chocolatey ‘Hershey’s Kiss’, you’ll find a shake for every taste.
