El Camino Cantina

A Tex Mex Cantina down in the Rocks

Advertising

Time Out says

The Rocks is best known for ancient pubs, high-end souvenirs and pancakes available 24-hours a day. But if you’re in the party spirit and a pint of lager isn’t going to cut it, there are Margaritas on tap at El Camino Cantina, a brightly-lit, enthusiastically Tex Mex (emphasis on the Tex) restaurant and bar. Your drink comes in a comically large cocktail glass and has a handful of ice in it to keep it cool until the last sip. Of course if it’s one of those days that only frozen drinks can remedy, they also have frozen Margaritas in original, strawberry and mango flavours. If you’re getting the vibe that we’re talking about something in the vein of Plant Hollywood by way of Mexico you’d be bang on the money. There’s college football on the telly, Lynard Skynard on the stereo and on Wednesdays they have a 10c hot wing special (with a drink purchase) that’s a serious challenger for cheapest dinner in town.
