Crafted Addiction

This bright and leafy Marrickville café is all about dishing out housemade pastries, breakfast plates and great coffee. The café roasts their own house blend over at Petersham's Collective Roasting Solutions, and the man behind it all is Yianni Papaioannou, who's a long time barista. He's got a Greek Filippino background, which he's channelling into many of the dishes like lamb, capsicum and eggplant wrapped in a crispy filo pastry served with saffron yoghurt; a yeeros spiced fried chicken burger with carrot, coriander, cucumber and sesame mayo; and barbecued eggplant with poached eggs, garlic yoghurt, pistachios and shaved cured egg yolk. Inside you'll also notice a cool 115 plants hanging from the roof – these are courtesy Yianni’s wife Hay, a local a florist who's added a green touch to the space.
