Located in the heart of Liverpool on the banks of the Georges River, Bellbird Dining and Bar (named for the birds who serenade the restaurant’s patrons during service) provides a casual, relaxed setting for an affordable, farm-to-table fine dining experience.
The philosophy here is all about showcasing local, sustainable and seasonal produce, with head chef Federico Rekowski creating an ever-changing menu influenced by a blend of contemporary French, Asian and South American flavours. Many of the dishes incorporate fresh ingredients from the abundant kitchen garden (40 per cent of the produce is grown on site, including tomatoes, zucchinis and beans), which means your food miles are guaranteed to be low. The menu also caters for vegans, vegetarians and those who are gluten-free.
As part of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Bellbird Dining and Bar is positioned on the ground floor of the main building and boasts a recently renovated al fresco area. Surrounded by art galleries and lush vegetation, it’s the ideal spot to grab a bite to eat before (or after) exploring the exhibition spaces.
Be sure to check out the precinct's major summer showing, Jamming with Strangers, which is running from December 4 to February 27. The exhibition asks the question: what does it feel like to be connected with people through music? It will feature talks, networking events, music performances and a diverse selection of works by Australian artists.
