Chat Thai owner Amy Chanta continues to stake her claim on Sydney's Asian food scene with this new project located on the QVB's lower ground level. It claims to be a Thai eatery, but a closer look at the menu reevals some interesting cuisine mix-ups. Padt Ramen is essentially pad Thai with Japanese noodles. Gwai Si Mee consists of Chinese-style egg noodles with chicken and a mushroom gravy. And Malaysia gets its moment on the plate courtesy Hainanese rice with Panko-crusted fried chicken. Desserts include classics like mango with sticky rice, or a serve of young coconut ice cream with sweet sticky rice, candied palm seeds and roasted peanuts.
