PLEASE NOTE: Aqua S at Regent Place is now closed, but the Chatswood Westfield store is still open.
Sydney’s appetite for iced confections is boundless. We will queue for hours to make our own sundae at the Messina Dessert Bar, dedicate whole evenings to acquiring a scoop of Cow and the Moon’s internationally renowned gelato and maintain a steady demand for Hartsyard’s changing roster of soft serve cones.
And now Regent Place has added Aqua S to its awesome snack roster for a swift sweet treat in the CBD. They have three flavours of soft serve that change fortnightly, plus your choice of white fairy floss, toasted marshmallows, popping candy and caramel popcorn as an extra topping.
Sea salt may sound like an odd choice, but the bright blue soft serve is sweet and creamy with a gentle briny kick – more like salt panna cotta than salt caramel. Keep your taste buds on high alert by adding a swirl of lemon ice tea into the mix. It tastes like Lipton Ice Tea, but with a serious citrus tang.
We’ll skip the unflavoured fairy floss next time in favour of more sticky wedges of marshmallows, which they toast on the spot with a brulee gun.
Hot dogs at Chanoma, cocktails at Assembly and dumplings at Chefs Gallery are all excellent reasons to duck into the snack-warren that is Regents Place. Now Aqua S completes the picture with bright blue ice cream that tastes as good as it looks on Instagram.
