If you descend the escalators of George Street’s food and fashion hub Regent Place you’ll find a little slice of Harajuku by the way of Angel’s Garden. Inspired by the much loved Cosplay cafés of Tokyo, Angel’s Garden combines sweet treats including crêpes and ice cream, in a colourful kawaii atmosphere. It’s an extension of Uncle Tetsu (which you’ll find on the level above), so you’ll also find slices of the wobbliest, lightest, most delicious cheesecake stuffed into a bunch of different desserts.
The hit right now is the crème brûlée crêpe, which sees the classic delicate French pancake shaped into a cone to hold slices of cheesecake, dollops of vanilla custard and slices of fresh strawberry. The top of the cone is then doused in sugar before being torched and caramelised to create the signature crème brûlée hard shell. Also on Friday and Saturday nights you may be treated to a special performance of J-pop hits.
