A humble $50 note won't get you very far in Sydney – it's an Opal top up or less than half of a parking ticket – but a subcontinental diner in Darlinghurst is here to change all that. Brick Lane is now dishing out a whopping eight-course dinner for just $50. And here's the kicker: that price includes bottomless wine or beer.
The feast is on offer until Sun Feb 11, and will start with snacks of wonton poppers filled with punjabi potato, pea and chilli served with a sesame dip, and poppadoms with house made chutneys and pickles. Then you'll work your way through kingfish ceviche, veggie balls spiked with coriander, garlic, chilli and a pork belly masala tostada. Next up you'll get to work through two curries, a chicken number, spiced with fenugreek, garam masala, caradmon and coconut served with zesty cucumber and cabbage slaw; and a spiced eggplant curry with eggplant crisps, ginger, tomato, potatoes, chilli, coriander and yoghurt. If you're not already full a chai and chocolate mousse will round out the evening.
So whether you're feeling the post-holidays pinch (but you still want to gorge like it's Christmas time) or you're just ready to work your way through a spicy, wine-fuelled dinner that won't even scratch your party budget, book a table ( you need to mention the $50 when booking) for what maybe Sydney's best valued dinner.
