Believe it or not, 2024 is well and truly coming to an end. Sure, a looming new year might mean looming deadlines, unfinished goals and a reminder of how quickly time flies, but it’s also the perfect chance to dream big and plan your next adventure. After all, a new year means a fresh batch of annual leave and more time to stash away those travel funds.

Not sure where to go? Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Predictions playbook has us covered. This year, they surveyed more than 27,000 travellers from 33 countries to suss out which Aussie destinations are set to be all the rage in 2025. According to the data, one of Sydney’s most famous beachside burbs  – Manly – is the third trending destination for the year ahead.

The Northern Beaches capital is home to some of the city’s most magical stretches of sand: Shelly Beach is a fave for a dreamy snorkel, Freshie is an all-round hit (and so is its local watering hole), and the surf on Manly’s main beach is consistently fun. It’s also a drinking and dining mecca, home to stellar restaurants, intimate tiny dive bars, lively pubs and gorgeous waterside venues (notably the newly opened Felons Manly, as well as Manly Pavilion and Queen Chow Manly).

The other NSW spots to rank in the top ten trending destinations for 2025 were Sydney and Pearl Beach – a magical coastal idyll on the Central Coast.

Topping the list is one of Australia’s oldest gourmet regions, the King Valley, located a three-hour drive from Melbourne’s CBD. The title of Australia’s second top trending destination for 2025 went to Amity Point, a quiet coastal village on Queensland’s North Stradbroke Island
