The crew behind Bondi's poutine slinging, Caesar swilling bar the Stuffed Beaver are doing something pretty unusual for a venue in the deep east – they're branching out from the Bondi bubble to bring the good times to the north side of the bridge. That's right, Crows Nest is getting a Canadian dive bar.

The Stuffed Beaver 2.0 is setting up shop on the Pacific Highway to dish out red hot wings, tacos, hot-diggity-dogs and burgers. You'll also be able to get their signature poutine, a Canadian favourite that sees hot chips loaded with gravy and melted cheese.

On the drinks front the Beaver crew have teamed up with Philter Brewery to create a one-off beer designed especially for the bar, in addition to the full range of Philter brews. There will also be cider, a short wine list and Bloody Caesars (the Canadian take on Bloody Mary which uses Clamato juice to great, hangover-busting effect).

Much like their Bondi digs, they'll be screening the NFL, AFL, NRL, cricket and UFC on a purpose-built 120-inch screen; they've installed retro arcade games including Street Fighter, Golden Axe and Double Dragon; and later on in 2018 they'll have completed the Philter barrel room where you can sample barrel-aged craft beers.
