Last year, hospo giant Merivale threw the city a financial bone in the form of a month long 49 per cent discount on all drinks. Nope, not just the house wine or the beers you don't want – all drinks up to a $200 cut-off (sorry, Grange lovers). And this June they're bring it back for more cut-price party times.

Given the sheer breadth of bars and pubs in their stable, this means a lot of very, very fancy drinking has suddenly become much more accessible. The deal runs for the month of June for all drinks ordered between 5pm and 7pm, every day, in 39 venues across town.

This includes Bar Topa, Ash St. Cellar, J&M, Charlie Parker's, El Loco, Coogee Pavilion, the Newport, Felix Bar, Hotel Centennial, Ivy Pool Club, Palmer and Co, the Beresford, the Vic on the Park, the Collaroy, the Paddington Bar and the Queen's Hotel.

If you've always wanted to drink from the top shelf, now's the time to do it.
