Sydney! It’s time to get sparkly, because something fabulous this way comes. In long-awaited pop news, it has been announced that the Excel spreadsheet texter herself, Kelly Rowland, and British legend Charli XCX will headline WorldPride's famous Domain dance party on February 26, 2023. The duo will be joining home-grown Aussie princess Jessica Mauboy and queen Kylie Minogue on the international roster. Kylie and Jess will be joined by Charli XCX as the international headline act at WorldPride’s opening Live and Proud concert (hosted by Courtney Act and Casey Donovan, no less) on February 24, 2023.

Someone, please hold us as we swoon.

With only 100 days to go until WorldPride hits our Harbour City, this announcement is the final spark we needed as we all begin flying down a rainbow brick road towards good time town, with this news joining the exciting announcement of the full, 300-event long WorldPride program.

Right now, you can head down to Bondi Beach to see Sydney’s first ever gigantic rainbow sculpture, made entirely out of sand, while extra tickets have been released for both the Bondi Beach Party (where 12,000 people will turn Bondi’s sandy stretch into a thumping club) and the Live and Proud concert spectacular (where you’ll get to party with Kylie, Charli and Jessica all at the same time). Overall, it’s a yes from us.

On top of all this jazz, we can also reveal that this festival will be a ‘Mega Mardi Gras’, with the festivities running for a record 17 days from February 17 to March 5, during which time Sydney will be playing host to a Human Rights Conference, 68 WorldPride arts events and 17 World Pride sports events, meaning that no matter who you are, you’re going to be covered.

Excitingly, there will also be an utterly fabulous pride walk across the Harbour Bridge, so grab your kinky boots and stomp. There will also be four new incredible shows celebrating First Nations queerness at the Marri Madung Butbut (Many Brave Hearts) First Nations Gathering Space at Carriageworks from February 23-28.

Tickets are on sale to all the things right now, and we suggest you run and don’t walk.

This is a show that we know we don’t want to miss.
