Calling all the lovers – it's almost time for our favourite showgirl Kylie Minogue to hit Sydney for not one, not two, but three huge arena shows. This will be Kylie's biggest tour since 2011, so you know she's going to be delivering pop anthems, perfectly choreographed dance moves and cheeky banter galore.
It’s set to be a great, big huge sparkly weekend for the Harbour City, with Kylie’s shows overlapping with the 47th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, which our Kylie has long been a supporter of. (Hot tip: there’s a rumour that Kylie might kickon at the official Mardi Gras Party, along with Troye Sivan!)
So, who's ready to come into her world? Here's everything you need to know about Kylie's shows this week.
When are the Kylie Sydney shows?
After lighting the fuse for the Tension Tour in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane, Kylie will be rounding out the Aussie leg of her tour at the Qudos Bank Arena, with three gloriously glittery shows on Saturday, March 1 (the same day as the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade); Sunday, March 2; and Monday, March 3.
How to get to the Kylie concerts in Sydney?
Public transport is usually the best option for getting to Qudos Bank Arena; and that’s not only because the cost of travel on trains, metro, and light rail is included in concert tickets. Olympic Park Station is less than a ten-minute walk from the stadium, and plenty of additional trains and buses will be running for concertgoers – you’ll find more info over here.
If you have no option but to drive, you will need to pre-book parking online. You should also allow plenty of extra time to travel to and from the show (the parking lot can get pretty congested, and it can take up to an hour just to leave the car park at the end of the night).
Will Sydney trains be running to the Kylie Minogue concerts?
It's a fair question, considering the recent and ongoing Sydney train chaos. Nothing seems entirely predictable with Sydney trains at the moment, but Transport NSW is still encouraging punters to catch the train. Our advice? Leave early, with plenty of time to spare.
Who are Kylie Minogue’s support acts?
Upstart young Aussie singer and rapper Mallrat will be supporting Kylie on the Aussie leg of her Tension Tour. She's best known for songs 'Groceries', 'Pavement' and 'Ray of Light'.
What time will Kylie come on stage in Sydney?
The external doors will open at 6pm, and the Qudos Bank Arena website states that Mallrat will hit the stage at 7.45pm, followed by Kylie at 8.35pm.
Are there any Kylie Minogue tickets left?
There are still a few tickets remaining for Kylie's three Sydney shows, although they do appear to have restricted views. They're priced between $199–$299, and you can try your luck buying them on Ticketek.
What can I bring to Kylie’s Sydney shows?
There are specific rules for what you can and can’t bring to concerts at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Here are the main things to remember:
You can bring:
One bag no larger than 20cm x 15cm (no backpacks permitted). Patrons are also encouraged to bring an empty reusable plastic water bottle (no glass or metal) to fill up at the free water refill stations. Make sure you’ve also got your card (or digital pay on your phone) because the venue is fully cashless.
You can’t bring:
Professional cameras, alcohol, glass or metal bottles, bicycle or motorcycle helmets. Backpacks are not permitted (regardless of size). Smoking, including e-cigarettes, isn't allowed in the stadium unless in designated areas. A heap of other items you may or may not have been considering bringing along are also prohibited, so it’s worth checking the list over here.
