Super kawaii dumpling peddlers Harajuku Gyoza are bringing Tokyo’s latest food trend to Sydney – the super-sized fry, or what they’ve dubbed the Long Fry. Taking inspiration from the streets of Harajuku, the snack takes potatoes and puts them in an imported Japanese potato press that feeds those long starchy tubers into the fryer, making for an extra-long hot chippy. Each serve comes with a choice of shiitake mushrooms and shaved bonito flakes or Japanese mayo.
This isn’t the first time the Potts Point restaurant has introduced a Insta-baiting dish to the menu – they also introduced Japanese souffle pancakes and the raindrop cake. Who knows what other snack trends will come to Sydney next – maybe it'll be the giant French fry or an adult happy meal.
