Western Sydney’s wellness enthusiasts, this one’s for you. After transforming the way Sydneysiders in the Inner West work out – through their fun, affordable, trendy-as-anything gyms – One Playground has confirmed they’re making the move out west, with One Playground Merrylands set to open this summer. The Sydney-born brand already runs gyms across the city, with outposts in Surry Hills, Newtown and Marrickville, and its biggest gym yet currently under construction in North Sydney. The decision to move west has been a long time coming, and it spells fun things for fitness fans.

Spread across two levels, the sprawling 3,000 square metre space will be home to six group training studios, a One Playground-level gym floor (read: elite), and several semi-private training studios – a new format that none of the other outposts currently feature. So far, the gym’s schedule is set to include more than 200 fitness and wellness classes per week – ranging from calming yoga to adrenaline-pumping cardio sessions.

In keeping with the brand’s ethos, we can expect beautiful things from One Playground Merrylands – with the interior design set to feature arched windows and 5.5-metre high ceilings, drawing inspiration from the opulent, breezy riads of Dubai and Morocco.

The new gym will be part of the mega Mason and Main development which is currently under construction in Merrylands. An exact opening date is yet to be released, but you can stay up-to-date and sign-up as a member before they all get snapped up via the One Playground website-
