Time Out says

Contemporary Indigenous music collective the Black Arm Band celebrate a decade of playing together with a new production, Songs of the Black Arm Band. Under the artistic direction of soul singer Emma Donovan, the eight-piece outfit of singers and instrumentalists performs songs that convey resilience and hope, and express their experience of Indigenous life.

Premiering at Dark MOFO in 2016, the new production brings together songs from the Black Arm Band's previous successful shows, Murundak and Dirtsong. The musical and theatrical journey is imbued with the power of Aboriginal history, and also showcases the talents of individuals within the ensemble including didgeridoo player Mark Atkins and vocalist Deline Briscoe.

This performance introduces new Black Arm Band member, singer, songwriter and guitarist Yirrmal Marika from North-East Arnhem Land, who is one of an exciting new generation of Aboriginal musicians.
