Night over Light is a 13-day program of live music, dance parties and more taking place in the small bars of Sydney’s York-Clarence-Kent precinct, or YCK Laneways. It’s happening June 8-20, and the festival’s centrepiece event has been announced: Live from YCK.
For one night only, Martin Place (between Castlereagh and Pitt Sts) will be transformed into a live music haven, bringing beautiful sounds to warm up Sydney’s chilly winter night.
Sydney R’n’B star Liyah Knight will perform her soul-inflected pop tracks like ‘Better Unsaid’ and ‘Tipsy’.
Triple J's 2020 Unearthed Artist of the Year, JK-47, is also on the bill. The Bundjalung hip-hop artist recently burned up the stage at the Adelaide Festival and he’ll also be heading to Bluesfest in October after showing Live from YCK what he’s got.
And don’t miss the performance from amazing Sydney-based singer-songwriter Odette playing theatrical and heartfelt songs from her albums To a Stranger and Herald.
Live from YCK happens 5-10pm on Thursday June 17 and tickets are on sale now for $49.
The Fever-Tree Bar will be open serving a range of delicious drinks such as Patrón Silver cocktails and Bombay Sapphire G&Ts, and once the music’s over you can kick on at one of the many outstanding bars that make up the YCK Laneways group.
Night over Light is part of Sydney Solstice, a winter celebration of Sydney's arts, culture, food and entertainment.
