On the last free day in the long summer break, British electronic producer Jon Hopkins will be lighting up the Concert Hall, transforming the Opera House’s main stage into a psychedelic rave for the intelligent electro crowd.
Float away on hypnotic multimedia visuals as Hopkins takes to the grand piano to bring us tracks from his latest Grammy Award-nominated album Singularity.
The classically-trained pianist has collaborated with Imogen Heap, Brian Eno, Coldplay and King Creosote, and he’ll be cherry-picking the best of his ambient electronic career for the show, including songs from the Mercury Prize-nominated fourth album Immunity.
Hopkins’ latest work is a meditative record inspired by his psychedelic and psychological experiences (all natural, he says). Call your boss and tell them you’ll be in by lunchtime on Monday.
