Time Out says

We were worried for a moment there about the state of live music in Sydney. But now, we are feeling tentatively optimistic. Aside from some certain stadium-fillers who’ve been dropping in, there’s also been a steady stream of tour announcements coming in all shapes and sizes. In Newtown, they’re keeping it weird, with vaudevillian stalwart The Vanguard getting a fresh facelift and gigs to go with it, and now, we have the holy grail of indie: Jack White is bringing his No Name Tour to The Enmore.

Steady as she goes – in addition to his initial sold-out Victorian shows, including a return to Melbourne's Corner Hotel presented as part of Always Live At, White has announced a bunch more performances in Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, and Auckland.

With a style that draws on the bluesy roots of his native Detroit and crunchy garage rock, Jack White is one of the most prolific names in the music industry today. Even if you don’t think you know any of his music, you will absolutely be able to recognise the distinctive bass line of ‘Seven Nation Army’. Of course, that chart-topping song is one of the most popular bangers to come from the White Stripes – aka “brother and sister” Jack and Meg White (aka ex-husband and ex-wife), aka one of the most significant bands of the 2000s indie rock revival.

After the White Stripes shot him into the mainstream, Jack went on and sought success with his career as a solo artist, a record label owner, and in numerous other bands and collaborations including The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs/The Saboteurs. All of this goes to say that this guy has a very healthy backcatalogue to draw on for these gigs.

In addition to White’s initial Sydney show on Friday, December 13, he’s also added a second show on Saturday, December 14. Tickets are on sale from 10am on Friday, November 22. You can snap up your seats and find out more about the tour over here.
