Jack White is producing vinyl records and dreaming of a time before electricity was discovered and the Strokes have been disappointing fans with every album release since their debut. Take a look at the main runners and riders and there’s a strong case to be made that Interpol are the real winners of the post-punk revival scene that dominated the musical landscape of the early '00s. Marauder, their current album, was produced by Dave Fridmann, who oversaw much of the Flaming Lips’ and MGMT’s best work, and showcases a band looking to try new things whilst also ensuring they stay true to the tension-laced sounds that made them popular in the first place. Get your year off to the right start with Interpol.
