Fleet Foxes are the first act to be announced for this year’s Vivid Live program – the series of contemporary music gigs at the Opera House during Vivid. The folk-rock band will be playing four exclusive shows in May, which will be their only Australian performances in 2017.
Anticipating high demand, the Opera House has established a ballot system for ticket sales. Everyone has an equal chance to make applications over a five-day period from March 1-5. Successful applicants will be notified via email with a link to purchase tickets between 10am-4pm on Friday March 10. Unsuccessful applicants will be added to a waitlist.
It’s been five years since their last shows and the band will return to the Concert Hall to premiere new material from their third album with a refreshed line-up: Robin Pecknold on vocals, guitar; Skyler Skjelset on guitar; Christian Wargo on bass; Morgan Henderson on multiple instruments; and Casey Wescott on piano. Their Vivid Live performances will feature additional players including Matthew Barrick on drums.
The full program for Vivid Live will be announced later this month. Find the dates for Vivid Sydney as well as highlights from last year.
