There must be something in New Zealand’s water with the increase of talented singers reaching international acclaim. Bene is the latest artist on the scene, recording in the same studio that brought us other unearthed talents like Lorde and Broods. Only 18 years old, Bene leaves a lasting impression; her music spans indie-R’n’B mashed with ’80s funk-pop. Following the release of her accompanying music video for the single ‘Soaked’, Bene has announced that she’ll be touring two shows in Australia, one in Melbourne and one Sydney in February. Look out for her debut festival appearance at Laneway.
