‘The West Ball’ is a celebration of love, inclusion and self-expression in Western Sydney, inspired by the Ballroom subculture of New York City (famed from TV series such as Pose and Legendary) and predominantly led by POC, Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA+ communities. In the lead-up to the West Ball 3 in June, two renowned members of the community curate a glamorous evening at the Powerhouse including workshops hosted by legendary US figures MC Kevin JZ Prodigy, Buffy West and Overall Mother Asia West. There’ll also be guerrilla performances, live music, interviews and extravagant gowns and costumes.
