The Playhouse at the Sydney Opera House will be transformed into an ocean of discoveries as an inventive and charming musical stage adaptation of children’s book The Snail and the Whale splashes onto stage. 

Join a fearless young girl and her seafaring father as they dive heart-first into an adventure to the far ends of the globe, reimagining the story of a tiny but courageous snail and a friendly humpback whale. 

The show’s multi-award-winning source book comes from lauded children’s author Julia Donaldson and long-time collaborator, illustrator Axel Scheffler, the team behind the beloved children's tale, The Gruffalo

The Snail and the Whale is brought vividly to life through live music, storytelling and lots of laughs for little ones. This show is recommended for ages three and up, and will have a limited run between January 10 and 21.
