The summer school holidays have snuck up on us once again. While it’s the happiest time of the year for the young ones, it can be a super stressful (and expensive) time for parents who need to entertain them for days on end. Luckily, there are hours and hours of fun to be had at Wonderwater, the Sea Museum’s refreshing and family-friendly summer activation. Kids can play and discover on and off the water at Darling Harbour, with hands-on activities to inspire and excite – all included in the one Wonderwater See It All ticket.

Lego lovers can let their imaginations flow in the Sea Museum’s Great Southern Lego Reef, which has been created in collaboration with Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught. They can construct fascinating sea creatures out of Lego, while learning fascinating facts about one of Australia’s least-known ecosystems and rarest reef animals.

Open daily during the school holidays, the Sea Museum’s Kids on Deck is the ultimate playground for arts, crafts and experiments. Young creatives can get hands-on by crafting their own quirky octopus hats and puppets, or test out the Museum’s plastic recycling machine to upcycle marine debris into cool new creations.

Inspire your kids (ages eight to 14) to learn new skills in one of the Museum’s full-day photography intensives or fun-filled stop-motion clay animation workshops. Mini Mariners aged between two and five can also play, sing and dance in one of the Museum’s interactive tours on selected Tuesdays and Saturdays during the school holidays.

End your family fun day out on the beautiful Darling Harbour at the interactive Sea Science Pontoon. The little ones can make friends with the fishes, play with salty seawater and discover the latest scientific innovations. Time your visit to the waterfront from 11am to 2pm to enjoy free captivating entertainment from roving performers.

You can purchase a Wonderwater See It All ticket from $15 here or enjoy free entry for members and children under four.
