This summer, Taronga Zoo is host to a bevy of new attractions that’ll keep kids entertained throughout the school holidays.
They’ve opened up a junior wild ropes course where youngsters can experience swinging high above the zoo’s grounds, navigating over 60 obstacles while spotting animals of all stripes.
On the ground, upping the cute ante is a nursery of baby animals that have recently arrived, including a baby chimp, gorilla and koala joey, while the zoo’s Tiger Trek exhibit will also be open during the summer holidays for the first time. Four Sumatran tigers will be on show to the public – with an estimated 400 remaining in the wild, it’s a rare opportunity to learn about these powerful animals and the dangers they face.
Moreover, Taronga Zoo is one of the few places in Sydney open on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, making it an easy pick for families looking for a fun day out during the public holidays.
