Kids will be experiencing bush tucker from every angle in this 90-minute investigation of Indigenous cuisine at Rouse Hill House and Farm. They’ll be led by Indigenous guides from the Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural and Education Centre and others from the Rouse Hill area as they search for edible plants and spot wildlife, then make a Johnny Cake, which is a kind of damper.
You’ll be enjoying your hot treat and the rest of the morning in a rural property with uneven terrain, so be sure to dress appropriately – check off enclosed shoes, hat and sunscreen. The day is suited to kids aged 5-12 and parents are also invited.
