After wrapping up her operations in Kings Cross, Lauren LaRouge came west to continue her mission of making her customers’ nail beds as bedazzled and bright as her own. “It’s going to sound odd but I feel like Parra has a similar vibe to what the Cross used to,” says LaRouge. “There are plenty of colourful characters and it has a real community feel to it.” The former burlesque dancer and ukulele player is now based within the AE Hair Salon and she continues to bling up the cuticle canvases of her customers using pearls, seashells, diamantés and rainbow holographic finishes along with hand-painted nail art.
