We've already got movies in the park, movies by the beach, outdoor movies in bed, and movies down by Sydney Harbour, and now Sydney's mania for al fresco screenings has taken that extra leap to deliver movies on a boat.
The concept kicked off last summer and proved a hit, so they've announced a brand new season.
Launching just in time for Halloween on October 30, the first screening will be horror classic The Sixth Sense, a movie that celebrates its 20-year anniversary this year, followed by another influential 1999 screamer, The Blair Witch Project, on October 31.
Skipping over to December the theme will be altogether more Christmassy with a family films Jingle All the Way and Elf on December 3 and 4 respectively, not to mention Christmas action favourite Die Hard on December 23 and Home Alone on Christmas Eve.
Celebrate Valentine's Day with someone you love at an on-water screening of Steve Carell-Ryan Gosling-Emma Stone romcom Crazy, Stupid, Love. And there's also a special Mardi Gras voyage and film planned for February 26 – film to be announced.
The boat launches from King Street Wharf and sets sail rain or shine (they can move the movie indoors if necessary). Yes, there's a bar on board (no BYO) and snacks are available.
Sydney's summers are glorious. The harbour is spectacular for a cruise, and the movies are good. So that's a triple win – best book now.
