Perhaps you first saw him in his breakthrough role as Diver Dan on SeaChange. Or maybe it was as the compassionate Faramir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Either way, David Wenham has enjoyed a flourishing career both here and in Hollywood.
Chilling in The Boys, hilarious in Van Helsing, buffed in 300, sympathetic in Three Dollars, Wenham has graced our screens in nearly 80 roles. The 52 year old's more recent work includes Top of the Lake, the award-winning Lion and the Marvel series Iron Fist, and he'll soon be seen in Wake in Fright and Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
On Wednesday May 31, Wenham will be appearing live, speaking about his career with Luke Buckmaster at Event Cinemas George Street.
The one-hour chat will be followed by a screening of Jonathan Teplitzky's Gettin' Square (2003), featuring Wenham sporting a magnificent mullet as heroin addict Johnny Francis 'Spit' Spitieri – one of his most popular performances.
Proceeds from the evening will go to a Screen NSW and Event Cinemas fund for a screenwriters' development program.
