The Standard Bowl

It's a bowling alley, bar and gig venue – and it's a darn good time

Time Out says

This miniature bowling alley and live music hybrid sits a tp of Kinselas and Lo-Fi and guarantees good times whether you're knocking down pins or shaking it up the dancefloor. The fun doesn't stop there with pinball machines and pool tables on the mezzanine levels, and after the (always free) live bands stop, DJs spin floor-filling tunes until the early hours of the morning.

The idea for the bowling alley came when part owner Paddy Coughlan and Matt Rule (he of the former Annandale Hotel) got a drink at the Brooklyn Bowl, the famous ten pin bowling alley, bar and music venue in Williamsburg. (Yep, like all good things and new Sydney concepts, it originated in the BK.)
