It seems that Sydney can't get enough of rooftop bars (not that we're complaining!) – and the latest is a new open air bar from the folks at artist-run space 107 Projects. This month, this creative hub in Redfern will transform its rooftop (which is usually used as a permaculture garden) into a sun-soaked drinking spot, featuring live music, DJs, cocktails and cold beer.
And here's the best part: to celebrate the bar's opening, 107 is hosting three massive parties over one big weekend. Each has a different vibe, but all of them are free entry, with Espresso Martinis and dumplings served all weekend. Sounds pretty effing sweet to us.
The first party (4-10pm. Fri Jan 13) is brought to you Sydney-based label Free the Beats; think electronica, ambient experimental and hip-hop. Then on Saturday, get down to some sweet, sunny folk music with 'For Folk Sake' (4-9pm. Sat Jan 14). Finally, finish your weekend with a Sunday session by Sydney crew Bare Necessities; purveyors of African, Latin American and Tropical beats.
