Well, this most definitely is not ordinary. It's just been announced that the Preatures will be playing a surprise one-off concert during Vivid Live and showcasing material from their long-awaited new album.
The performance on June 1 in the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House will also mark the band's festival debut as a four-piece, with guitarist/singer Gideon Benson having parted ways with the Preatures early last year.
The band previously played Vivid Live in 2015 when they promised they were "just getting started".
"It’s going to be phenomenal to see them playing brand new music in the intimate Drama Theatre, opened to contemporary music for the first time this Vivid Live," says the curator of Vivid Live, Ben Marshall. "The Preatures’ raw talent and Izzi’s magnetic presence put them in the top draw of internationalist Australian talent."
The band's brand new single 'Girlhood' was just released to Triple J. The new album has been recorded in Sydney with guitarist Jack Moffitt producing and veteran US engineer Bob Clearmountain mixing.
