Flagons of wine are set to be the drink of summer

Move over Frosé – we've found our new drink of summer. It's big, it's boozy and it's delicious – it's a flagon of wine. Yep, you can now get big ass glass bottles of skin contact pinot gris from Chevre.

Usually if you're drinking wine that's larger than a litre you're in goon town, but this serving of natural vino clocks in at a hefty two litres, and is light years better than Fruity Lexia. We first spotted the flagons at Rootstock Sydney and now the summer ready pour is available at the CBD's oldest bottleshop, Oak Barrel.

The man behind the big gulp is young gun winemaker Jordy Kay who farms everything himself on his own property. His pinot gris is not the white wine you're used to. Three months on skins means it's a plummy red colour with a gentle spritz to it. Happily, because it's bulk bottled you'll never have to dash out after your meal to grab that second bottle and you'll be everyone's favourite Christmas drinks guest if you turn up with one of these biodynamic bad boys.

Along with Sydney's the Drink Hive – Rosebery's newest bottle-o with refillable beer and wine station – we're thoroughly enjoying Sydney's move towards making wine time more sustainable and tasty as.
