Dennis Roman, Zoltan Magyar and Pasi Petänen – the minds behind the outstanding long-term pop-up restaurant Cafe Paci – are getting the band back together to smash out a fresh four-week dining series at Mecca in Alexandria

The 12 collaborative wine dinners will celebrate the arrival of spring and the colours of the harvest with weekly dinners taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Week one (October 12, 13, 14) will kick off with a celebration of red, so expect to see anything from bright red strawberries and rose petals, to juicy lamb and blood on the menu. Week two (October 19, 20, 21) will focus on yellow, so think lemon, honey, yolks, and butter. Week three (26, 27, 28 October) will be all about the ultimate neutral, so you may see yoghurt, bone marrow, cauliflower, parmesan, garlic, coconut, crab meat and potato cooked up. Finally week four (November 2, 3, 4) will celebrate the ultimate spring colour of green, with all the herbs you can think of, avocado, lime, honeydew melon, peas, broccoli, celery, and matcha.

Many of Pasi Petänen's dishes at Cafe Paci played with colour (or of lack thereof) and showcased the simplest ingredients in a whole new light, so buckle yourselves in for a monochromatic dining adventure. Vino will be taken cafe of by Dennis Roman and Zoltan Magyar. Each five-course dinner will cost $85 per person and you can add wine paring for an additional $65. Petänen's last dining series at Mecca was a hot ticket, so make sure you pick a colour and make a booking ASAP.
