There’s a new way to get high in Bondi this winter and it comes in the shape of a 32-metre high ferris wheel. From June 30, you’ll be able to take a flight over Bondi Beach for $8, riding above ice skaters and surfers in a cute glass gondola.

The ferris wheel will be open until late (Sun-Thu 10am-10pm; Fri-Sat 10am-11pm) so you can soar above the suburb after dark, before or after the cheap theatre and comedy shows on during Bondi Feast – a two-week program of entertainment in Bondi Pavilion.

The ferris wheel is only sticking around until July 23 as part of the Bondi Winter Magic festival, which includes an ice skating rink (also open late) and a carnival-style playground of music, arts and food.

Tickets are already on sale for the Bondi Eye. Each gondola fits six people. Tickets are also available for Bondi Feast, and there’ll be a box office in the Pavilion during the festival.
