Belle’s Hot Chicken love Sydney so much, they're staying forever

It seems that Sydney is a little bit obsessed with fried chicken at the mo, with no less than three chicken shops opening within days of each other – we’re talking about Surry Hills’ Butter, Potts Point’s Thirsty Bird and our personal favourite, Southeast Asian chicken shop Juicy Lucy in Surry Hills.

But now it’s been confirmed that Melbourne’s famed fried chicken destination, Belle’s Hot Chicken, is set to remain at Barangaroo after the massive success of their temporary eatery at Wulugul Pop-up. Fried chicken for everyone!

They’re moving to a new, much bigger, space that is going to be more like their full-scale restaurant in Melbourne, with 110 seats and a craft beer and natural-wine-led drinks list. They’re adding two more levels of heat to their existing five categories of fried chicken: ‘Sex Panther’, and what’s set to be the hottest hot chicken in town, the ‘Ron Burgundy’.

They’re also adding some sides that were sadly missed at the pop-up, including fried chicken’s very best friend, mac’n’cheese, as well as their celebrated hot chicken and hot fish sandwiches.

Read our review of Belle's here. It’s due to open early September 2016.
