Update: After selling 90,000 tickets to her first Sydney show in a matter of hours, making it the biggest event ANZ Stadium's held in well over a decade, Adele has just announced a second and final Sydney show, on March 11, at ANZ Stadium. For this show tickets will go on sale December 1 (that's next Thursday) at midday. Adele has already sold 400,000 tickets to her Australian shows. If the second show sells as quickly as the first (and it will) then in one single tour, one in 46 Australians will have seen an Adele show. That's pretty good odds. In New Zealand the Adele saturation is even higher. After selling 100,000 tickets in Auckland, one in 44 New Zealanders will be attending an Adele show.

"G'Day! it's me... I was wondering if after 10 years in the game you'd finally like to meet me in: Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide?" says a handwritten note posted on Adele's website this morning, and reposted on her Twitter page.

That's right, after ten years in the business the English singer-songwriter is heading to Australia for the first time. She'll be making her way to Perth on February 28 and working her way to Sydney on March 10, playing at the ANZ Stadium

The 2017 tour will be the last leg of her global tour, and it's reported that her performances will be 360-degree 'in the round' shows. Her letter says "In the round, outdoors and upgrading myself to stadiums to make sure I get to see as many of you as possible. I can't wait."

We can't wait either, Adele.

Ready those lungs for a mass singalong to 'Hello'.

Tickets go on sale at noon on Monday November 21.
