Opera Australia's blockbuster bling-as-f*ck harbourside production of Turandot just became a bit more budget friendly: each day before the performance, 45 tickets for $45 a pop will go on sale at the Mrs Macquarie's Point box office at 4.30pm, for that night's performance. There's a limit of 4 tickets per person, and no booking fee. They do come with this disclaimer, from Opera Australia: "Seats may be restricted view" – so ask before you purchase.
If you're wondering how to kill time between 4.30pm and when the opera starts at 7.30pm, we'd say walking around that part of the Royal Botanic Gardens is a good start, but you should also check out our Where to eat at Turandot guide and plan your dinner.
