The innuendos are ubiquitous and never-ending at this sports-lovin’ bar. Or so they should be: ‘stuffed’ and ‘beaver’ are fairly loaded words (well, they are for us – maybe we’re just sleazy degenerates). Throw in boozy booze, sporty sports and loud music and you’ve got a recipe for a night of cheeky double entendres. Names aside, this fun and casual North American diner-style bar has a lot going for it, including a great and relaxed atmosphere to take first dates (no, seriously) and lots of TVs if you like your sport. And we’re not just talking about cricket or football, but title boxing matches, the World Series and the Super Bowl. And no sporting event is complete without hot wings, chilli dogs, tacos and burgers. Our favourite is the Celine Diog, a hot dog with cheese and onion. Or of course there’s the classic poutine – a Montreal speciality of fries, gravy and cheese curds. The Canadian theme also extends to the brewskies, with Whistler Lager available. The cocktails here are no-fuss. Served over ice, the Margaritas are easy to throw back, as are the Ryegarita and the Stormy Jerry – Sailor Jerry with Bundaberg ginger beer and lime. Not so easy is the super-intense Bloody Mary complete with chilli-infused vodka, dill pickle and a pickle egg. Grab a crew, an (extremely high) stool or a booth out the back and, um, get your beaver on.
