As part of the Oxford Hotel, the two upper levels of this grand old building once hosted the infamous Gilligan's. Much loved for its potent cocktails, Gilligan's ran as a queer bar for about 20 years before the entire premises closed for a major renovation in 2004. Several million dollars later the Oxford Hotel re-emerged with a main gay bar on the ground level, a cabaret bar on the first level known as the Supper Club, and a stunning level-two bar reminiscent of the former Gilligans, the Polo Lounge. Stylish décor includes opulent lounges, fireplaces and a life-size horse lamp, and the bar offers great views of Taylor Square.
Currently, the Polo Lounge is only open for special events and is available to hire for functions.
