There’s a kind of old-world class that hits you as you arrive at the Bar at Sir Stamford. Located in a Heritage listed edifice that was formerly the Health Department Building, Sir Stamford tips its hat to 18th century-inspired European décor but still manages to keep things thoroughly modern.
You’re welcomed by plush chairs, gold-plated framed portraits and a big wooden bar that serves fine wines, liqueurs and cocktails. Open from lunch until late evening, the Bar also boasts a diverse food menu. Make a beeline for the freshly shucked oysters, shrimp dumplings and mushroom and truffle arancini, or if you’re a little more than peckish, there’s pizzas, beefy burgers and a traditional Argentinian asado grill serving char grilled meat with chimichurri sauce.
Take your pick, relax at the Bar with your favourite drink, and enjoy live music every Wednesday to Saturday.
Plus, put Sir Stamford’s high tea on your radar: an extensive tea list paired with Champagne and copious amounts of sandwiches and sweets will have you licking your fingertips, Marie Antoinette-style.
