How do you elevate a bar that’s already chic, sophisticated and dripping in Old Hollywood glamour? You create a brand-new cocktail menu that pays homage to the artistic doyennes of the cinema, music, art and fashion worlds.

The award-winning Maybe Sammy has just launched Stardust – a collection of 12 signature cocktails named after legends like Cher, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. The menu has been six months in the making, and was developed in collaboration with co-owner Martin Hudak, bar manager Paolo Maffietti and the Maybe Sammy bartending team.

Each cocktail will be brought to life pictorially via bespoke artwork by Australian illustrator Clementine Roslund (who is known commercially as KlemeKleme). Each individual artwork sits alongside its respective beverage in the new menu booklet, and comes with a QR code that takes you to a custom social media filter. Extending the drinking experience has always been a focus at Maybe Sammy, and this new cocktail collection allows you to engage in a whole new way.

And while it’s hard to pick just one stand-out cocktail from a menu stacked with tasty tipples, there are a couple of highlights. The Dancing Queen is a playful, tequila-infused concoction with layers of coffee and tropical fruit. It’s inspired by the goddess of pop herself, Cher, and is served in a disco ball, naturally. Another on the must-drink list is the National Velvet – a nod to Elizabeth Taylor’s breakout role. Made using Ketel One Vodka, yuzu sake, bitter citrus aperitivo, blood orange and frankincense syrup, it even features a diamond-shaped ice cube.

The new cocktail menu is now available at Maybe Sammy. For further information head to the website.
