Check out our recaps of the travelling festival of beer and entertainment.
A woman in black does an elegant backflip. Then another. Then another. Then another. Her partner lifts her in the air and spins her – she looks like a swan. The night is barely getting started at Little Creatures Live at the Time Out Hop Up, and already we've seen a dancer twist more than twenty hula hoops around her waist, a magician who can pull razor blades out of his mouth – and now a lyrical acrobatic duo. You can tell this Fremantle brewery likes to do things a little differently.
Speaking of a little different – there are seven different beers on tap tonight. Which is very appropriate, given it's Sydney Beer Week. There are old favourites, like Little Creatures hop driven, full bodied Pale Ale, and their rugged IPA, plus their Dog Days beer, which started as a summer only release, and is now back full time – just in time for Sydney's weather to warm up. Guests are also snacking on burgers and popcorn – perfect beer food.
Sydney is one of the last stops on Little Creatures Live's traveling roadshow. They've already worked their magic in shows across Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth – but we think they've saved the best till last. Towards the end of the evening, we watch on in amazement as a Vaudeville juggler balances a bottle of Little Creatures Pale Ale, and a balloon, on a knife, in his mouth. Then, the balloon pops, and the tall boy stays standing.
That's balance – but it's a little different. Just how we like it.
