Let the Captain’s Balcony host your next event

This cosy split-level spot on Erskine Street has developed an Asian-leaning menu and cocktail list since opening four years ago. Together with its nautical theme and sophisticated function areas, the Captain's Balcony wears many fun hats.

Here you’ll find everything from pork belly bao buns to a spicy double cheeseburger; top-shelf whisky to local craft beer; intimate window tables to a mezzanine level for corporate mingling. The venue can accommodate 140 people and their event packages include catering, a full waiter service and access to the bar (via a tab or paying as you go). Smaller groups can book the courtyard on a sunny day or cosy up at the captain’s window table when it’s raining out.

But all hungry bargoers will want to investigate the snacks menu. The squid somes with fried shallots and chilli mayo for dipping, and adding a side of warm edamame makes for the perfect stool-sitting meal. Pair it with their Thai Town cocktail to match your dinner with warming hints of chilli, ginger and coriander alongside the essential components of gin and lime.
