Time Out says

Perched on the water’s edge at Waverton, the Coal Loader offers North Sydney residents and visitors a vibrant meeting space for events, great venues for waterfront dining and the chance to explore the structure’s history. Known officially as the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, the former industrial site used to operate as a coal transfer depot between bulk carries and smaller vessels. Now, it has a keen focus on sustainability within its foreshore park, community garden, Aboriginal sites, nursery and studio space. You can also explore the tunnels that were once used to load coal, or spend a balmy afternoon on the Platform, which is one of Sydney’s largest rooftop gardens.
