Time Out says

Forget everything you think you know about narrative and telling a story: the artists in this exhibition, curated by MCA's Rachel Kent, push the idea of narrative to its limits, and tell their stories in mediums as unexpected as fog, puppetry and German lieder.

Participating artists include Kate Daw, Emily Floyd, Mabel Juli, Jumaadi, Jitish Kallat, Bouchra Khalili, Angelica Mesiti, Lee Mingwei, Peggy Patrick, Shirley Purdie, Safdar Ahmed & The Refugee Art Project, Phyllis Thomas and Kerry Tribe.

As part of Telling Tales, visitors might find themselves in the way of a one-on-one live opera experience this winter, courtesy of Taiwanese artist Lee Mingwei.

Lee's ‘Sonic Blossom’ features Opera Australia singers performing songs from Schubert’s Winterreise song cycle – to one gallery-goer at a time.
