Camping Arolla

Whether you’re in it for gazing at mountains from your tent or going or hiking like a champ, there isn’t much that Camping Arolla in Canton Valais can’t offer. Europe’s highest campsite (1,950 metres) even has hot showers, electric hook-ups, washing machines and a small grocery shop. Still, it’s best suited to hardy campers who aren’t looking for added entertainment. Go for the generous grassy pitches, the peace and quiet, and the setting: the campsite is arranged across different levels and backed by sweeping Alpine summits and soaring glaciers. Reception staff are happy to advise on walks for making the most of the scenery. The site is open from June to September.
